Located in the southeastern corner of British Columbia, the Kootenay region is home to pristine rivers, lakes, waterfalls, beaches, mineral hot springs, alpine meadows and snow-capped mountains.
In select microclimates, grapes have been grown in the Kootenays since 1995. Although a new viticultural area, ground crops and orchards have been cultivated there for many decades.

FACT: Viticulture in the Kootenays wine region takes place on valley floors with the warmest portions being in the Creston Valley, Grand Forks and, potentially, the Rock Creek area.
