Located in the southeastern corner of British Columbia, the Kootenay region is home to a pristine stretch of rivers, lakes, waterfalls, beaches, mineral hot springs, alpine meadows and snow-capped mountains. Although it is a relatively new viticultural area, ground crops were first planted in the region many years ago, which led to the cultivation of orchards and today, in select microclimates, grapes have been grown since 1995.
