One of the oldest towns in the province, Lillooet is located at the southern tip of the Cariboo Chilcotin region of British Columbia. Former mayor and long-time resident, Christ’l Roshard and her husband Doug Robson initiated a program in the early 2000s to test for the suitability of growing grapes commercially in B.C.’s Fraser Canyon. The program was a success and in 2009, the dream was realized when the proprietors of Fort Berens Estate Winery planted their first 20 acres.
