Okanagan Valley Wineries - summerland
Located in beautiful Summerland, BC, the winery overlooks Switchback Vineyard, an organic site that is also home to roaming sheep and chickens. Okanagan Crush Pad crafts wines that are symbolic of the region's unique high mountain/northern desert setting which has an intensely hot, short growing season with hallmark cool evenings. The winery is the first in Canada to extensively use concrete tanks and wines that are fermented and aged in concrete carry the Raised in Concrete™ designation. Visitors to the guest center, built right into the heart of the production facility, get a rare glance into the art of winemaking.
Our goal is to present hand-picked, organically-grown wines at an affordable price so that wine enthusiasts of all ages can appreciate the wonderment of wine drinking. Our beautiful setting on Bottleneck Drive in Summerland, British Columbia is home to some of the best cool-climate organically-grown wines in the Okanagan Valley.
Sleeping Giant Fruit Winery was established in 2008 by its parent company Summerland Sweets Ltd. Summerland Sweets is a family owned and operated business with roots in the food processing industry since the 1950’s. At Sleeping Giant we use classic winemaking techniques to produce seventeen off-dry table wines and nine late-harvest style dessert wines. BC grown fruit provides the foundation for our wine portfolio, which offers many delightful taste sensations. We have a gift shop and tasting room and are open year round.
Founded in 1979, Sumac Ridge is the oldest operating estate winery in British Columbia and has been dedicated to producing 100% British Columbia grown wines since its inception. The winery is nestled in the heart of the Okanagan Valley near the scenic town of Summerland. Its celebrated Black Sage Vineyard is located in the Southern Okanagan, near the town of Oliver. Sumac Ridge Estate Winery offers a full range of quality VQA wines under the names: Sumac Ridge; Black Sage Vineyard and Steller’s Jay Sparkling.
Hand harvested and gently pressed, our wines are slowly fermented in small batch stainless steel tanks. The result is an amazingly fresh, crisp, fruit forward wine series. We invite you to come taste for yourself in our tasting room.
