Marketing the Wines of British Columbia brand makes up a significant portion of the BCWI’s annual budget. Our Vision is that British Columbia is recognized as one of the world’s premium wine regions.

Events – ‘Owning’ the wine and food event calendar.

We host spring and fall media and trade tastings to showcase new releases in BC and Alberta, and have created a signature consumer wine, food and tourism event, ChefmeetsBCGrape.

On-Premise Promotions – Cultivating a BC wine and food experience.

We sponsor programs such as Dine Out Vancouver, Dine Around & Stay in Town Victoria, Dine Out Thompson Okanagan and the Big Taste Calgary to promote Wines of British Columbia awareness through BC VQA Wine pairings in more than 450 restaurants.

Retail Programs – Telling the story of the Wines of British Columbia in-store.

Comprehensive channel-specific retail campaigns are implemented throughout the year keeping Wines of British Columbia top-of-mind with consumers.

BC VQA Wine Stores – Promoting an exclusive distribution channel.

We develop marketing tactics that fit the needs of the retail environment in each store, and work in partnership on innovative ways to utilize their extensive knowledge and friendly service to drive sales of BC VQA wine.

Competition Consolidation

We assist our member wineries in delivering their wines for judging at competitions around the world. By leveraging a single, coordinated shipment with specialist help, the complexity and cost of delivering wines to competitions is reduced, meaning more members can participate.
