Ordering direct from winery
As of July 2026, residents of Manitoba and New Brunswick can purchase wine directly from British Columbia wineries for personal consumption, subject to applicable provincial requirements, carrier availability, age-verification, and winery-side compliance processes. Alberta and Saskatchewan also have direct-to-consumer pathways for BC wine, but those pathways include province-specific authorization, reporting, payment, or consumer-authorization requirements.
Nova Scotia previously allowed direct personal importation of Canadian wine, but its current direct-to-consumer alcohol framework is based on reciprocal agreements. Current Nova Scotia public materials identify Ontario, not British Columbia, as the active DTC agreement partner. BC wineries should therefore not treat Nova Scotia as an authorized DTC destination unless British Columbia is confirmed as a reciprocating jurisdiction or NSLC confirms an applicable BC pathway.
In other provinces and territories, direct-to-consumer shipping remains restricted, unconfirmed, or subject to province-specific authorization. The federal government has removed federal barriers to interprovincial alcohol trade, but provincial and territorial rules continue to determine whether and how consumers may receive direct shipments from out-of-province wineries.
