OSOYOOS Wine Country
Osoyoos Wine region
Osoyoos lies at the southern-most tip of the Okanagan Valley, near the Canada-USA border. Officially Canada’s hottest spot, this is red wine country. Wineries from other regions use grapes from the south to produce award-winning, sun-ripened red wines. Like Penticton, Osoyoos offers many waterside resorts that make great bases for touring the wineries nestled in the sloping hills, and other adventure activities. The exceptional food experiences at some of the best winery restaurants in the valley are also within easy reach of Osoyoos.
FACT: The Okanagan Valley wine region is home to the only desert in Canada.
FACT: Average 1,641 growing degree days.
FACT: Soils are very deep sandy glaciofluvial materials overlying granite bedrock.
