Submission Deadline: Calgary Stampede Cellar Showdown

The Calgary Stampede’s Stampede Cellar Showdown is a world-class international wine competition that showcases excellence in viticulture and winemaking from Canada and around the globe. Adjudicated by respected local and international judges, the event follows a rigorous three-phase evaluation process (Double Gold, Gold, Silver, Bronze), culminating in the naming of the Calgary Stampede Grand Champion Wine.

The competition is open to producers whose wines are legally available in the Alberta marketplace. All entries must comply with AGLC regulations, including active registration with Liquor Connect and providing proof of purchase in Alberta when samples are delivered. These requirements may present challenges for some BC wineries; however, the Calgary Stampede team has indicated they are willing to discuss individual circumstances with producers to explore legally compliant pathways for participation.

Wines earning top medals may be selected for additional visibility through Stampede’s food and wine programming, including Stampede Cellar Uncorked and the Stampede Cellar Champion Wine Experience, offering significant exposure to engaged consumer and trade audiences.
