BC Wine Institute Announces New Executive Director

November 2, 2011 / by: Darren

September 10, 2010 (Kelowna, BC) – The BCWI board of directors is pleased to announce that Mr. Miles Prodan is joining the BCWI as its new Executive Director starting October 4, 2010.

Mr. Prodan brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from his five-year tenure at the Thompson Okanagan Tourism Association (TOTA) where he was Executive Director and, most recently, International Market Development Specialist.

Ms. Josie Tyabji, Chair of the BC Wine Institute notes that Mr. Prodan “has an extensive knowledge of the agri-tourism industry, which, combined with his in-depth marketing and management experience in a member-based trade organization, made him the ideal candidate for this position. We are very pleased to welcome Miles to the BCWI team.”

Having had the opportunity to work with many BCWI members and industry stakeholders during his tenure at TOTA, Mr. Prodan is excited to build on those relationships as our Executive Director and work together to further promote and elevate the BC VQA brand.

The BC Wine Institute board of directors (2010):
Josie Tyabji, Chair, Vincor Canada
Mike Raffan, Vice-Chair, Township 7 Vineyards & Winery
Scott Fraser, Andrew Peller
Ingo Grady, Mission Hill Family Estate Winery
Lawrence Herder, Herder Winery & Vineyards
Pam Luckhurst, Road 13 Vineyards
Chris Wyse, Burrowing Owl Vineyards
Rod King, King Family Vineyards / BC Grapegrowers’ Association

Based in Kelowna, the BCWI promotes the Wines of British Columbia (BC VQA) and the Wine Regions of British Columbia brands.
