Celebrate the Season with BC VQA Wines in BC Liquor Stores

December 4, 2015 / by: Darren

Suggested Tweet: @WineBCdotcom has the holidays all wrapped up w/#BCVQA Wines on promo & gold gift bag ‘n’ tag in 20 @BCLiquorStores this month!

LOWER MAINLAND – BC VQA Wines have the holidays all wrapped up with the British Columbia Wine Institute (BCWI)‘s annual Bag’n’Tag promotion in BC Liquor Stores. Gift bags and gift tags will be given away with purchase of 12 different BC VQA Wines this month, supported by in-store tasting events throughout the Lower Mainland offering consumers free opportunities to try before they buy. An extra holiday perk is the province-wide #BCVQAPourandPair social media contest running until December 31 with a prize valued at $5,600!

Throughout December, 12 BC VQA Wines will be presented in gold organza gift bags on the shelves of 20 BC Liquor Store locations. Making gift-giving even easier are the gold-wrapped gift tags adorning participating bottles.

Trying before buying makes wine shopping tasty, educational and fun, so this season a team of professional wine experts will introduce the 12 featured BC VQA Wines in BC Liquor Stores around the Lower Mainland to shoppers through 32 tasting events free of charge.

In addition, the BCWI has arranged an unparalleled social media contest that runs until the end of December, giving away a trip for two through four of BC’s acclaimed wine regions. All consumers need to do is upload a photo of their BC VQA wine bottle paired with their favourite holiday food and hashtag #BCVQAPourandPair on Twitter or Instagram to enter. The prize trip includes travel by float plane, luxury accommodations, scrumptious meals and of course 100% BC Wine. For details on the contest go to: WineBC.com/PourandPair
BC VQA – or you could say DNA. It’s BC at its best.

About the British Columbia Wine Institute (BCWI)

Since 1990, the BCWI has played a pivotal role in taking BC’s wine industry from a vision to an internationally recognized niche region producing premium wines and providing exceptional wine tourism experiences.  The BCWI markets the wine and regions of BC; delivers quality trade, media and consumer tastings; and acts as the voice of BC’s wine industry by advocating to government on behalf of industry that contributes $2 billion in provincial economic growth annually.

The BCWI represents all wineries in British Columbia to grow the premium market share for the Wines of British Columbia, while driving awareness of our world-class wine tourism product – currently drawing 800,000 visitors with $476 million in tourism and tourism employment related economic impact every year.

The BCWI’s voluntary membership consists of 152 member wineries whose dues enable participation in various trade and consumer promotional events and retail marketing activities here in BC, across Canada and in select international markets, exclusively featuring BC VQA (100% BC) Wine. BCWI members produce 94% of BC VQA Wine sold in British Columbia.
