Kelowna, BC – The BC Wine Institute has partnered with the Westside Wine Trail and Save On Foods to present the inaugural pair.ing pass program along the Westside Wine Trail.
Pair.ing invites wine enthusiasts and foodies alike to 12 of the Okanagan’s top wineries along the Westside Wine Trail November 2 and 3. Enjoy a variety of locally sourced and creative cheese dishes alongside perfectly paired wine.
“The Okanagan is a mecca for wine and food, and this program really brings out the best in both. The Westside Wine Trail offers an amazing range of boutique and larger wineries, and, with 12 wineries participating in the pair.ing pass program, we’re excited to share the diversity of our wine and culinary styles with our guests,” says Lindsay Kelm, Association Manager for the Westside Wine Trail.
As a proud supporter of locally sourced products, Save On Foods will work with wineries to provide local, Canadian cheese-centric pairings with offerings that include: Happy Day goat cheese ball with local walnuts and luscious apple butter , smoked gruyere served with strawberry and fig balsamic reduction on artisanal crackers, among many more. The pair.ing pass program offers a unique wine and food experience that highlights the diversity of wine and culinary offerings on the Westside Wine Trail. The program is also a great introduction to BC wine country for visitors during shoulder season – helping to drive tourism to the Okanagan Valley.
“The partnership with Westside Wine Trail and Save On Foods builds on our strategic long-term plan to foster unity and community within our industry and help make BC wine country a benchmark for wine tourism,” says Kim Barnes, Marketing Director of the BC Wine Institute.
Each pair.ing pass ($30) includes six experiences at participating Westside Wine Trail wineries November 2 to 3 from noon to 5:00 PM. Passes are built to be shared or enjoyed individually and can be purchased at WineBC.com .
