October 28, 2011 (Kelowna, BC) – The BC Liquor Distribution Branch (BCLDB) brings the Best of British Columbia to wine lovers across the province starting Saturday, October 29.

An annual event, the Best of BC features a top selection of premium BC VQA wines at 21 Signature and select BC Liquor Stores throughout the province. Customers will be able to choose from 28 award-winning BC VQA wines from 14 of BC’s finest wineries; Burrowing Owl Vineyards, CedarCreek Estate Winery, Hester Creek Estate Winery, Inniskillin Okanagan Vineyards, Jackson-Triggs Okanagan Estate, Mission Hill Family Estate Winery, Moon Curser Vineyards, Nk’Mip Cellars, Osoyoos Larose, Painted Rock Estate Winery, Poplar Grove Winery, Sandhill, Stag’s Hollow Winery & Vineyard and Tantalus Vineyards.

“We are happy to have such wonderful support from the BCLDB for the BC wine industry,” says BC Wine Institute Executive Director Miles Prodan. “The Best of BC release gives consumers across the province the chance to discover some rare BC VQA wines and taste the exceptional quality of the Wines of British Columbia.”

BC VQA wines are the top premium wine category in British Columbia with 19.57% of the market share. The BCLDB is vital to the success of the Wines of British Columbia, accounting for 25% of all BC VQA wine sales in the province.

To assist customers in their product selections, a Best of BC booklet is available on the LDB’s website and in Signature BC Liquor Stores, featuring tasting notes and a vintage chart, as well vintage charts from 2008 and 2009.
