WINE GROWERS BRITISH COLUMBIA WELCOMES NEW BOARD OF DIRECTORS

October 3, 2024 / by: Wines of British Columbia

British Columbia: Wine Growers British Columbia (WGBC) hosted its Annual General Meeting in person at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre on September 27, 2024, welcoming new members to the Board of Directors.

The WGBC Board is comprised of nine voting directors representing all full-member wineries of Wine Growers British Columbia. During the meeting, elections were held to fill several available seats. As a small winery representative, Lauren Skinner-Buksevics from Painted Rock Estate Winery was elected to a three-year term. For the three seats available for representatives of medium member wineries, Angela Lyons of Quails’ Gate Winery was elected to a three-year term, Paul Sawler of Dirty Laundry Vineyard to a two-year term, and Mark Sheridan of Hester Creek Estate Winery to a one-year term. From large member wineries, Josh Stewart of Arterra Wines Canada was elected to a three-year term, and Vincent Ong of Andrew Peller Ltd. was elected to a two-year term.

Continuing their directorships are Samantha Collins of Mission Hill Family Estate, and Adam Woodward of Privato Winery & Vineyard. WGBC President & CEO Miles Prodan will continue as an ex officio non-voting member.

WGBC extends its gratitude to outgoing board members Chris Turyk of Unsworth Vineyards, Greg Berti of Andrew Peller Ltd., who is retiring from the wine industry following a fruitful 35-year career with Andrew Peller, Sheila Whittaker of Nostalgia Wines Inc., ex-officio member Al Hudec as well as retiring President & CEO Miles Prodan for their significant contributions and dedication to the organization.

As WGBC looks ahead to the coming year, we extend our gratitude to BC’s resilient wine community. Despite the challenges of recent years, we remain committed to supporting our member wineries and the vitality of the BC wine industry as we work together towards a bright future.
