BRITISH COLUMBIA – Harvest time is wrapping up for what many claim is BC’s best vintage ever. Discover BC’s diverse wine regions in BC Liquor Stores across the province throughout November and see how far we’ve come as a premium wine region.

Each BC Liquor Store has its own style when it comes to its selection of wines and this month liquor stores are raising the provincial flag by featuring BC VQA – 100 per cent BC wine and displays in their stores.

In addition to the displays in BC Liquor Stores, the BC Wine Institute (BCWI) is running its second Explore BC VQA Wine and Win contest on Instagram and Twitter with a chance to win an #ExploreBCWine getaway to BC Wine Country. This seasonal prize package includes flights, accommodation and winery experiences for two to discover winter in BC Wine Country over three days and two nights.

From now through January 8, 2017, consumers can enter for a chance to win the #ExploreBCWine winter tour experience package by sharing an image of their favourite or newly discovered BC VQA Wine on Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #ExploreBCWine.

Harvest is over and the fall wine festival tourists have gone home, but more wineries are staying open this holiday season. “For those who are passionate about BC wine, winter can be one of the best times to visit wine country,” notes Kim Barnes, BCWI Marketing Director. “The busy tasting rooms have given way to quiet spaces where in-depth tastings can take place as harvest’s grape juice turns into wine. Visitors have the opportunity to spend more time getting to know the wines, the winery and the winemaker who is often around during the cooler months.”

Festive events provide great reasons to raise a glass this holiday season, from mountain-top wine festivals (think Big Reds at Big White and Winter Okanagan Wine Festival) and excellent pre-Christmas fun (Winter in Wine Country, Light Up the Vines, and many more), plus dining events in January like Dine Out Vancouver.

Be sure to keep an eye out for the Explore BC VQA Wine radio and digital ads, as well as billboards throughout BC. For more information about the campaign and contest, visit WineBC.com.

Taste the diversity of our province’s dynamic wine culture through your favourite BC Liquor Store this season, and enter to WIN your next holiday wine tour with #ExploreBCWine.
