What is the Scott Labs Winemakers Cup?

The Scott Labs Winemaker’s Cup was created in 2008 with the modest goal of bringing peers of the wine industry together for a day of fun on the slopes at Mt. Baldy, and to share some moments of levity during Après Ski afterwards. Since then, the event has grown and evolved over the years into a weekend long festival of fun and games. It is organized and run as a nonprofit collaboration between Glenn Fawcett, Scott Labs, Mt. Baldy Ski Resort, Spirit Ridge, and a handful of other sponsors who help contribute year-to-year. During the last 16 years we have had over 1270 participants from over 112 different wineries in British Columbia. Today, the sole purpose of the Winemakers Cup (WMC) is to foster friendships and camaraderie amongst members of the Wine Industry in a non-competitive, non-political environment in the fresh mountain air whilst enjoying the drinking of numerous libations! It is also the World’s only annual ski & snowboard challenge weekend for the wine industry. The 17^th Annual Winemaker’s Cup takes place at Mt. Baldy and Spirit Ridge Resort in British Columbia on the Feb. 22, 2025. Since this is the 17^th annual, we intend to pull out all the stops to make this a very special weekend festival.

Tickets for the 17^th Annual Scott Labs Winemakers Cup are now live and are going fast. Join your peers in the BC Wine Industry down in Osoyoos on Saturday Feb. 22, 2025, for an unforgettable experience. The daytime fun is at Baldy Mountain where you can enjoy a day in the sun with dual slalom Ski & Snowboard races in the morning followed by an Industry outdoor BBQ lunch, then followed by free riding for the rest of the afternoon with new friends. Don’t ski or ride? There is not better place to be a snow bunny, so come on and cheer on the competitors and then enjoy Après ski fun in the sun all afternoon long.

The nighttime fun is at Spirit Ridge, and it starts out with a Winemakers Happy Hour where you can taste new wine releases and rub shoulders with Winemakers from across BC. Then a delicious gourmet dinner with nearly 200 of your fellow peers is followed by the hilarious Awards Ceremony. Then the evening is capped off with the infamous Hot Tub Time Machine dance party where you can dance the night away to the Disco & retro 80’s tunes of DJ Shakes. Hit Value Village and put together your outfits as there are great prizes for the best era-appropriate costumes.

The Winemaker’s Cup is open to anyone working in the BC Wine Industry, regardless of whether you are a Winemaker, a Cellarhand, a Vineyard worker, a Tasting Room employee, a Marketing or Admin person, and even if you are an accountant. This is the best way to blow off steam after a crazy year and meet your peers in a high-spirited, positive, fun environment.
