WINE GROWERS BRITISH COLUMBIA TO PROMOTE BC RESTAURANTS WITH POUR MORE BC PROGRAM

May 16, 2023 / by: Wines of British Columbia

Kelowna, British Columbia: Wine Growers British Columbia has launched Pour More BC, a hospitality program developed to support and promote BC restaurants with BC focused wine lists. The program is designed to benefit everyone involved – from the BC wineries crafting premium wines, to the restaurants serving by the glass or bottle, and finally to the consumers who enjoy them.

“At its core, the Pour More BC program connects people with great local restaurants,” said Kimberley Barnes, Marketing Director, Wine Growers British Columbia. “More than that, it makes it easy for people who value supporting local, and delight in discovering a BC wine they may otherwise not have had the chance to try, to easily find restaurants delivering that experience.”

Wine Growers British Columbia puts marketing power behind the program with qualifying Pour More BC restaurants (eligibility based on confirmation of a BC wine dominant wine list) receiving a listing on Wines of BC Best BC Wine Restaurants page. Pour More BC restaurants have also been added to the award-winning Wines of BC Explorer App, enabling the 16k+ users who already use the App to guide their wine country visits to now find BC wine restaurants nearby.

Exciting recognition came to the program when Vancouver Magazine announced the winner of the ‘Best BC Wine List’ at their 34th annual Restaurant Awards as a Pour More BC Restaurant, Water St. Café. “We at Water St. Café focus on the ‘best of BC’ as our core value,” said Sandy Grant, General Manager, Water St. Café, Vancouver. “This is reflected in our BC forward wine list with over 90 BC labels supported. We look to focus on unique varietals and wineries to showcase the diversity of what BC can offer from so many wonderful regions. When we support BC businesses, we make BC and our communities strong.”

Pour More BC restaurants become valued partners with the Wines of British Columbia brand mission to champion BC wine. Through this partnership, Pour More restaurants receive access to valuable staff training opportunities such as the Wines of British Columbia Ambassador Program, as well as high quality print and digital marketing materials to connect with their BC wine loving guests in person and online.

“We have a lot planned to support Pour More BC, including exciting ways to engage consumers with the program,” said Barnes. “Industry and wine lovers alike should keep an eye on our social channels this June for a summer giveaway designed to boost audience engagement and build awareness for our local BC restaurants serving BC wine.”

To start planning your local wine and food adventures, visit WineBC.com to find the list of participating Pour More BC Restaurants. Be sure to follow @WinesofBC in advance of the June giveaway as well and look for the Pour More BC icon in the Wines of BC Explorer App.
