Harvest across BC’s nine unique wine regions is an exciting time of year, with every new vintage completed BC winemakers hone their expression of terroir. Wines of BC Vintage Reports

Authored by Rhys Pender, Master of Wine, Wine Plus+ wine education, the Vintage Report is a detailed record of the distinct growing conditions and resulting wines from a particular vintage across all nine Geographical Indications (GI’s). The report is shared widely with media and wine trade professionals each spring ahead of new wine releases to position them to speak knowledgably about the vintage.

These one page guides feature each GI individually to fully capture their unique terroir and growing conditions. The regional one pagers are designed for wineries to utilize alongside their wine sell-sheets; save the space typically dedicated to a vintage synopsis and instead provide this page to accompany.

BC Vintage Guides

WGBC has produced two companion resources to compliment to the Vintage Report. While the Vintage Report provides an in-depth look at the growing conditions of a single vintage, the guides offer a high-level snapshot of the regional growing conditions in BC vineyards over the last ten years. Designed as a quick reference tool, the guides support BC wineries, trade and media in speaking about BC wine, hosting vertical tastings or serving library vintages. Please note that the guides offer regional summaries and do not capture the nuances of microclimates within each area.

BC Vineyard Acerage

The BC Wine Grape Acreage Report analyzes the vineyard landscape across the province to assess trends in wine grape farming.
